My Go To Websites to Buy Cosmetics and Skincare

"You are imperfect, permanently and inevitably flawed. And you are beautiful" ~ Amy Bloom

In the name of Allah, the Beneficient, the Most Merciful.

Hello readers.

I have been asked by one of my readers to list down my go to websites to buy skincare so here goes.

First and foremost, I must say that I have pretty much moved away from European and Western brands when it comes to skincare or makeup (I use very little makeup, but still). I find that it just doesn't suit me or the climate and weather I'm in. Plus the price point with the exchange rate these days are downright ridiculous. We can get much cheaper options which are equally or even better suited to our skin from Asian products. So the websites I visit to buy stuff reflects my inclination. Dah namanya dasar pandang ke Timur kan? Hehe.

5. Elf

The ELF brand is perhaps the only Western brand that I regularly use. The products are not expensive and they do worldwide shipping. I am a huge fan of their setting spray which is such a good dupe for the Urban Decay setting spray and Mac setting spray, both of which I have stopped using once I knew they were on the BDS list. For those who want to join in on the BDS movement go to buycott app and learn how to use it effectively from here.

My fave setting spray is below:-

There are some really good bargains on GemFive depending on what is on offer. I sometimes buy my B.liv products from Gemfive depending on the discounts, so watch out for the offers and bargains.

3. Hishop

I absolutely love this online shop, which offers great bargains on predominantly Asian skincare and makeup. And at the checkout you will ALWAYS, ALWAYS get some free samples of new and upcoming products that you can try! #IlapyouHishop

I am definitely going to go get this after I am done with this post!

Althea sells predominantly Korean products which is what I use apart from Japanese ones these days. The array and brands offered are endless and all products come with verified reviews before you decide to buy something. The thing about korean products is that the packaging is soooo cute!

I usually buy my Etude House toner here and I also get most of lipsticks, lip glosses and cushions from here as well.

My go to toner from Etude House:-

Awesome for dry skin. And my skin seems to glow with this! If you order above RM100 you are entitled to free shipping and everything is shipped out from Korea directly so if your products are running low, make sure to order in advance and not wait until its completely finished as it may take around a week for you to get your order.

1. Hermo

Hermo started their website some years back with a bang and have been on the forefront for online Asian makeup and skincare ever since. It is a local Malaysian startup so I have been told so #malaysiaboleh!

Their sale deals are some of the best I have ever seen, with really competitive prices. I usually buy my Missha Time Revolution Essence and b.liv products here, depending on the sale prices because I make a comparison with the rest of the websites I listed here before buying. The products are also packed with verified reviews so you can always read before you buy.

I must of course show you my fave SKII dupe essence which I will be permanently switching to since it suits my skin so well at 1/3 of the price of SKII.

How can you resist these websites right? Do have a click and see these fabulous products that are way cheaper and works better.

You're welcome, hehe.

Hope I have answered your query reader! XoXo

Much love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone.

It's Jubah Friday Day!!

"Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman..." ~ Coco Chanel

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most Merciful

It's Friday and OOTD day!

Jubah - Zawara
Scarf - Benanghijau

My two favourite brands for muslimah clothing! What I like about the zawara brand is that it sells dresses and jubah at reasonable prices. I usually do not want to pay more than RM200 for a jubah and most online shops these days sells their stuff at crazy prices weihh apakah.

Benanghijau has always been a favourite for me, as I find wearing shawls too tedious and the basic scarves from benanghijau which I wear are also reasonably priced.

In this economy, as a consumer I am no longer after luxury. I am after value and quality.  And these 2 are pretty high on the bar of both I have to say.

Have a good weekend ahead readers.

Much love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone.

Money Crunch - Making Every Ringgit Count - Part 2

"While money can't buy you happiness, it certainly lets you choose your own form of misery..."
~ Groucho Marx

In the name of Allah, the Benevolent, the Merciful...

Hello readers,

I am back from a weekend of weddings, and a quick getaway with my family.

Rejuvenated I am.

I promised part 2 to the previous post below. And so here I am.

Cashback Websites

I rely on 2 websites in so far as cashbacks are concerned. I am an avid online shopper and buy almost everything online these days. How these websites work is simple.

1. Sign up for an account with the website
2. Click to go to other websites through theirs
3. Make your purchase
4. A specified percentage of the purchase price goes to your cashback account
5. When you want, request a cash out!

You're all set!

Now on to my fave 2 cashback websites.

1. Shopback

So thats my account. And see its already up to a certain amount. Hooray!

2. Cashback Milkadeal

I also have an account with Milkadeal and have got some cashback from my purchases so far. Awesomeness!

Remember readers, some of the sites offered on both these cashback websites overlap so its a matter of personal preference really. But there are exclusives to each website too so go through them.

Happy shopping and earn back some money in the meantime!

Have a good rest of the week.

Much love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone.

Fabulous Heejab Boutique - Daisy Jubah

"Sticking with family is what makes it a family" ~ Mitch Alborn

Hello readers,

Sorry for the lack of updates, things have been crazy busy. Like crazy.

Anyways, I took time for a weekie with my family last weekend, and updates regarding that will come later.

But first a query from a fellow instagrammer on my outfit for a family event the other day.

From left: Airiel's Bonda, Nenda, Atok, Maksu and Mama

This was a family member's engagement sometime in March I think.

Anyway, the jubah was the question. Where did I get it she asks?

It's called the Daisy Jubah I think.

They are also on Instagram although I think their website no longer works. It's a simple jubah with pretty embellishment on the sleeves in the shape of little daisies, hence its name.

Okay. I have to start the week. work awaits.

Much love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone.

Unique Jubah/Dress - Nailanaureen

"Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much..." ~ Oscar Wilde

Hello readers,

It's been a while.

I have been busy as always.

As promised, an online shopping/clothing update after so long.

I have a lot of favourite websites when it comes to clothing. Muslimah/hijabi dresses and jubah are all the rage nowadays right?

It's hard to find something that catches my eye, but I saw this one jubah/dress which I really liked, because it was different.

Haleema Saree Abaya by Nailanaureen

I am not sure whether this is still available for purchase but it's made of saree material so it's light and airy. It's however a bit sheer because of the material if I stand in direct sunlight.

Totally in love with it.

Check out their fb page and instagram : Nailanaureen

More updates soon.

Much love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone.

Recent Fabric Shopping - Fitrahshoppe

"Pain is like fabric: The stronger it is, the more it is worth..." ~ John Green

Hello readers,

An update about some of the fabrics I bought. This is long overdue I know hehe.

On the left is a black and white kebaya fabric.
I can't even  describe the colour of the fabric on my right because it changes according to the lighting. Best described as copperish. Stunning.

I bought these from fitrahshoppe at drop dead prices.

The facebook page for fitrahshoppe is here.

The Instagram ID is fitrahshoppe.

I am told that it is a public holiday in Selangor tomorrow. So those who work in Selangor, have a good holiday.

Much love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone.

WATCHES MALAYSIA - AWESOME FINDS ON ZALORA!

"Unfortunately, the clock is ticking, the hours are going by. The past increases, the future recedes. Possibilities decreasing, regrets mounting..." ~ Haruki Murakami

Hello readers,

It's been a while. I have been really busy.

I am excited to share with you guys my newest find. I usually scout Zalora for clothes. But I found recently that it has an awesome collection of watches.

I have never been much of a watch person but I was just blown away by the collection on the website. I mean won't you guys agree that watches will never go out of style as the time telling instrument serves as one of a woman’s important fashion accessory? Not only does it tell us the time but it also acts as a form of bracelet on our wrist. Like a bracelet but only better because it helps us tell time as well. Ngee...

I am just thinking on how I can accessorise and was scouting for ideas. There are many watch designs sold in the market out there, but I realise that gold watches are perfect for us ladies to perk up our style. Hehe *wink*

I was scouting around on the net for ideas and sort of think that there are 3 different types of look which us girls can get creative with.

1st Look

The first way we can wear a gold watch perfectly is by pairing it with a nice pretty blouse and pants. This look will definitely be suitable for the career women like us to flaunt at the office. Don't you think it screams professional and mature? I definitely want to try this.

This is just soo sexy...

2nd Look

Okay, I have to admit I have never tried wearing a jumpsuit. Height issues = self conscious. But I think the next look that we can try to pull together with a gold watch is by matching it with a nice jumpsuit. I have seen people wearing jumpsuits for all occasions, and by that I mean on a day out, during the weekend or even to a dinner party without ever looking out of place. For those who can pull it off, and as the jumpsuit is pretty as it is, I don't think we have to over accessorize it with tons of jewelleries kan? So lets just perk it up with a nice exclusive gold watch, the jumpsuit will definitely look stunning on us everywhere we go.

Hmmn the jumpsuit idea is interesting...

3rd Look

The next way I think we can style a luxury gold watch is by adding some extra glam on our wrist. The best way is to accessorize a gold wrist watch with some dazzling gold bracelets for an elegant appearance or to then spice it up with some bold coloured multi-stacked bangles.

Can you imagine walking around town showing off the fantastic arm candy and impressing everyone with your amazing fashion sense?  I think this type of look is suitable for us ladies who want to reveal their outgoing fun personality on a night out with friends. Hmmn I should definitely try this.

Such a great idea!

Guys, I am serious about this.

If you are wondering where to get some fantastic gold watches to suit your personal style, have a look at ZALORA as it offers you an extensive selection of gold watches Malaysia online from various local and international brands.

I am in love.

Updates on my trips and weekies soon I promise.

Peace and love to everyone.

Much love from Airiel and I

Boycott Israel 2014 Part 5 - Support for LUSH Products

"I don't want to die without any scars" ~ Chuck Palahniuk

Hey guys,

I am sorry for the lack of updates. Things have been busy.

I am trying out some new products from Lush. I first came across LUSH on my hols in UK and Europe.

They are simply awesome and have the catchiest names for their products.

I bought these items recently:-

They are like tablets you put between your teeth and then you brush. As a coffee drinker these are absolutely necessary I think. Aren't the names funky and awesome?

And when I checked them out on Buycott and BDS, I found that LUSH not only does NOT support Israel, it has made efforts to endorse a single in trying to raise awareness for the human rights violations committed in Palestine. Check out this piece of news on Electronic Intifada.

How nice is it to have a brand which is not only natural, but is also conscious of human rights and makes a stand in support of it?

I bought my LUSH products from Shop USA Mall since they are not yet available in Malaysia. If they are though, please drop me a line or email me.

You can also find LUSH products on Instagram at "lushbyaira" on a pre-order basis.

Much love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone.

Have a good weekend ahead.

Online Shopping - Hishop.com.my

"Whoever said that money can't buy happiness, simply didn't know where to go shopping.." ~ Bo Derek

Hello readers,

It is Friday. I know I have not kept up with the promise of 3 posts a week, but heck this week has been busy.

I just wanted to share with you readers my excitement on buying some stuff from this online place, Hishop.

When I went to Europe this year, I was uber worried about my skin. It is notoriously dry. A lot of improvements since I became an SKII user but still, the weather in Europe was not exactly skin friendly and so I started a practice which I am doing until now, and that is to use a mask every other day or maybe 2 days once.

Does not have to be one of those expensive masks, just the reasonably priced ones. As my current supply was running out, and I was lazy to go to the store, I just browsed online on Hishop and decided to purchase some there.

I bought the B.liv  Stem Cell revival - feel no sluggish mask for dry skin. It was RM49.90 for a pack of 10, which was alright to me pricewise.

There was a deal for a free moisturizing serum if you purchase above RM50.00, I decided to just but some tea tree pore strips (bottom left hand pic). And I got the LC Derma Serum for free (see top left hand pic).

Package arrived in 2 days with a voucher for milkadeal as well.

Love the mask and will be buying more in the future. I notice that it brightens the skin as well.

An interesting and vast array of stuff up on Hishop so give it a visit.

Have a good weekend ahead.

Much love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone.

The 13 Online Shopping Websites I SWEAR by

"Crying is for plain women. Pretty women go shopping" ~ Oscar Wilde

Hello readers,

It is Merdeka Day.

This post is written because of requests.

I shop online a lot for almost everything under the sun, so readers ask me my top websites where I do my shopping.

Here goes:-

13. Hulala

Gadgets here are awesome. I am currently crazy about their fitness equipment. Can be found here. Check it out.

12. Dealmates
Check out the details for Mydeal as it is powered by the came company now. It sells some branded bags which are pretty cool. For instance the deal for Prada is here.

11. Milkadeal

It has some really good deals on pretty much everything. For instance I am in love with these deals at the moment:-

~ Adjustable wardrobe with wheels at only RM247 here; and
~ A cute 20 inch luggage bag at only RM160 here.

10. MyDeal

I pretty much go to the Clearance section everytime I come here. My fave clearance deals are currently these:-

~ Akemi King Fitted Sheet Series for RM90 here
~ AkemiUchi Art Plant Toiletry Gift Set for RM39.90 here

9 . Zalora

Clothes and pretty much shoes and accessories are the staple here. There are some really good brands which I absolutely love and swear by. My absolute fave is Zalia. I bought like a bunch of their tops and dresses.

Just like Zalora, this website is about clothes, shoes and accessories. Some of the cutest muslim dresses are found here. Celebs like Nora Danish have collaborated with fashion valet.

7. Groupon

My most fave discount website ever. Simply because it has some of the best travel deals you can get your hands on and I am a Fernweh sufferer as those of you would know. And they have some of the wackiest activity groupon deals like this current skydiving deal here. Absolutely awesome.

6. Mysale

I absolutely love this website. It has flash sales from assorted brands happening at certain times. I have bought a number of jeans from james jeans and true religion here at rock bottom prices. My current fave sale they are holding is on the comforters!! ahhh. Can be found here.

5. Lazada

This website has everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. At rock bottom prices. I cannot even begin to describe how much I love this website. Think of something or anything and chances are you can find it here. Be warned and enter at your own risk haha.

4.  Hishop

Hishop sells skincare, cosmetics, haircare. I can just go for hours and hours on this website scouting for products. It focuses mainly on Asian brands but other european brands are available as well. I usually buy my masks here.

3. Luxola

Like Hishop, Luxola sells skincare and haircare, makeup. It doesn't focus on Asian products only but has a wider range of international brands. Check out their website here. Mesti gatal tangan nak click LOL.

2. Reebonz

Bags, bags and more bags. Feeling lazy to walk into Dior or Chanel or LV at malls (which always happens to me because Airiel will ALWAYS steal the show...hufff) I just buy my bags here. Some nice vintage bags as well, which you can find nowhere else.

1. Net A Porter

Net a Porter has everything from luxury designer clothing to bags to accessories to shoes to lingerie. I buy a lot of stuff here as well. Absolutely awesome with top notch service. Heck some of this stuff you can't even find in Malaysia.

And there you go.

My go to online website for almost everything.

Happy Birthday Malaysia.

Much love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone.

My most trusted online shop for shoes

"So he tasted the deep pain that is reserved only for the strong, just as he had tasted for a little while a deep happiness..." ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald

Hi readers,

Sorry for the lack of updates, I have been busy and frankly, nothing much to update.

Anyways, I just want to share with you my new fave place I am going to for my shoe fetish issues haha.

I usually never buy shoes online because :-

(i) Usually online shops carry shoes with kulit babi and not tell us muslim customers, so so annoyed when this happens;

(ii) Shoes do not usually last; and

(iii) They do NOT look like what it looks like in the pics!

But I found a place which is awesome even though its online. And its local!

Hello Christy Ng.

The shoes are sky high (my kinda shoes) and are uber comfortable. I recently bought one on sale for RM180!!

Service is super fast and I got my package the very next day after my order.

Aren't these soo pretty!!!

Ok now, have a good weekend!!

Cute I say.

It's from LikeIgloo

Tops - Butik Cymus

Assamualaikum everyone.

Its a beautiful Monday over on my end.

Just to update you on my online shopping.

Loved the colours and they are aurat compliant so I bought them in both these colours. I realised when I got it that I must have lost a lot of weight because they are from my old measurements and should fit me, but somewhere were loose when I wore them, so I'm gonna have to alter them when I get it back from Bonda's dobi shop.

They are from Butik Cymus.

Have a good week ahead now everyone.

Crazy about EDZ

The curt truth is that, in a deep secret way, the state of being beloved is intolerable to many.
The beloved fears and hates the lover, and with the best of reasons. For the lover is forever trying to strip bare his beloved. The lover craves any possible relation with the beloved, even if this experience can cause him only pain ~ Carson McCullers

Hello readers,

I have found the coolest dresses yg jaga aurat and looks fab on me.

They are from EDZ. I have bought the Kate dress in batches, in different colours.

 Metallic Silver

Copper

My fave colour, green of course

I bought the copper colour the earliest and wore it during my cousin's kenduri during elections haritu. My relatives loved it and were asking where I bought it from!

Ok, you can't see the dress in full from these pictures, but it's real pretty and flowy, see the material?. I had to alter the length but it looked great nevertheless!

Online Shopping 2013 - More Tops

"That was the hard thing about grief, and the grieving. They spoke another language,
and the words we knew always fell short of what we wanted them to say" ~ Sarah Dessen

Hi readers,

Enough of the doom and gloom of my previous posts. I need to try and cheer myself up. At times of distress, what would Paris Hilton do?

Why, shop of course!! What a wise one she is...

Ok, back to my recent purchases.

These are actually the same tops which I bought and blogged about in this post. I loved the tops so much I am buying it in the rest of these colours too!

They are of course from EDZ.

Enjoy!

Bye Bye Google Reader... - Alternatives?

I was heartbroken to find out Google reader will be no more soon - 1st July that is. I have all my shopping information kept in there, marked things that caught my eye at first glance ... before going through them again and deciding what to buy.

Such is the life of an avid online shopper.

But fret not other google reader fans, there are alternatives that I have found I can rely on. And I list down my top 3.

No. 3
Pulse - This app. was launched on the Ipad and is great. It doesn't rely on google reader for it to sync to although you can sync it to google reader if you want and is great on its own. Give it a try

No. 2
The Old Reader - I love this reader because it is so very much like google reader in appearance and all, except for the fact that all my old marked posts were gone and I had to start fresh with marking! But with thousands of sites in my list, how the heck do you remember right?

No. 1
Feedly - This is the frontrunner for me. I absolutely love how it looks! And since it syncs with google reader, all your marked posts were there. I have been told that feedly will come up with a carbon copy of the google reader's API (kinda sorta the genetic makeup of how google reader works) so I am expecting a smooth transition on the 1st July.

Allright readers who use google reader. Have a go at these will you. I can sleep better knowing I will not lose all my subscriptions!

I am going to miss you Google Reader. We have had a beautiful relationship all these years. But all good things must come to an end. HUgssssss

Have a good weekend ahead readers.

I'm signing off for the week
