Pantang Menu

No matter what, once in your life someone will hurt you. That someone will take all that you are, and rip it into pieces, and they won't even watch where the pieces land. But through the breakdown, you'll learn something about yourself. You'll learn that you are strong. And no matter how hard they destroy you, that you can conquer anyone ~ unknown

Some of my readers have been asking me what my pantang food is like.

Well, the only thing I can eat and drink is below:-

1. Nasi Putih
2. Ikan Bawal bakar with salt and black pepper
3. Daging Bakar with salt and black pepper
4. Ikan masin kurau with salt black pepper
5. Air panas/suam
6. Serunding daging only

So, switch that up over 44 days.

Terrifying kan?

It doesn't end there, the pantang does not stop at 44 days, only select food is available for me to eat up to a certain point:-

1. No vege. Sawi can only be eaten 4 months after delivery
2. No seafood except udang until maybe about 6 months after delivery
3. No fruits except watermelon. Fruits pantang lama, maybe a year like that
4. No ice or cold stuff for about a year (which means no ice cream and yg sewaktu dengannya ok?)

Yezza, get the horror of what I am going through?

But I look at Nenda and she is so healthy for her age, takde sakit urat, takde badan angin angin, takde pantang makan apa. She says she owes it all to her pantang regime. So I'm just following whatever her orders are for this pantang thing and hope I will be as healthy as her when I get old. Bukannya boleh harap sgt suami atau anak anak jaga. In the end kena jaga diri sendiri.

Alright readers. Until next time...

Pantang Essentials - Part 2

Hello Everyone,

Tomorrow is going to be my last ultrasound. They will take Akif out latest by 7th February 2013 according to my specialist.

Regardless of the outcome, my confinement looms. So I need to take care of myself and prepare for the essentials. So I bought this traditional tungku. I bought the long one.

This is from Mayangsari

And bengkung in case I go for a c-sect from bidanbersalin.

If Akif makes it until tomorrow, a c-sect will be scheduled to give him his best chances of living. The specialist say that Akif will not survive the stress of a normal birth in his condition.

Meanwhile, I know things have been hectic at work and I am going out of my mind not really doing much. This has clearly been the longest time I have been away from work. But I must not be selfish and think about what I want, I want to be able to tell myself that as a mother, I have tried everything I could to save Akif, be it medically, holistically, traditionally...everything I could.

So if the doctor says to not stress myself even though there is no medical proof that this condition is stress-related, I am going to do everything in my power to stay stress free.

If Akif does not make it, at least I can tell myself that I tried...I really did.

Well, I hope everyone else will have a good week ahead.

Hugs & Kisses
Idza

Pantang Essentials - Part 1

Hi Everyone,

First and foremost I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support ever since Akif was diagnosed with hydrops. It really means a lot to me and Aries. We are hoping for the best but at the same time are prepared for the worst and are exhausting all avenues against this disease.

More details on Akif's journey when the results from my amnio and blood tests come back and the results of the next ultrasound as well. I will also post more about hydrops and hydrop babies as well. When I went for the ultrasound at the feto maternal specialist in University Hospital, there were at least 2 other couples with hydrop babies and all parents out there should know that they are not alone in this. Akif is still going strong and fighting at this point.

Because of the uncertainty on how things may turn out, I have already ordered and received my pantang set and a few extras.

These are from bidanbersalin

I also ordered an extra bottle of phytonatal as well.

I already have my amway bengkung from the time when I was preggers with Airiel so depending on how comfortable I am with this one, I may just use the old one. I may have to have another c-section so I suppose I also need to buy a c-sect bengkung just in case. Any suggestions anyone on a good bengkung for c-sect?

List of things to do lepas pantang..

Com this 30th..bebaslah yours truly dari berpantang. To mark this historical moment, I've decided to make a wishlist for myself of things to do lepas pantang.

Afterpantang Wishlist

1. Get my hair done;

2. Have 'the alien' doughnut from big apple;

3. Wear the 3 pairs of shoes I bought online during my confinement;

4. Eat nasi ayam 'Pak Mal';

5. Eat out with Aries at one of our fave places; and

6. Have a shopping day with Aries.

Ohh and yours truly skrang dah bleh meniarap..yihaaa!

Medical checkup on Monday. I'll snap up some pics of Airiel then and upload em here. Semalam Airiel meragam takleh tido..cian Aries yg kebetulan balik awal jaga..sudahnya dia exhausted sgt and saya plak kena take over..skrang ni pun both tgh tido dgn nyenyaknya..huhu

Tapi ntah kenapa, walau tak tido malam pun..siang still tak ngantuk..mungkin kekuatan yang tuhan bagi kat si ibu untuk jaga anak agaknya..celikje mata ni

still have about 8 kilolagi to go back to my normal weight..ada sesiapa ada tips tak nak kurangkan berat badan lepas delivery? susahnye rasa nak turunkan lagi.

Ohhn by the way..does anybody else think that Matt from American Idol have an uncanny resemblance to Micheal Buble or is it just me?
