The Calm in Chaos

"It's a cruel and random world, but the chaos is all beautiful..." ~ Hiromu Arakawa

In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Almighty.

Hello readers. A reader was asking for updates in so far my activities are concerned.

Well, I have been busy. How does one recover from adversity? My advice? Keep yourself busy. Sadness will invade you, but only intermittently.

So what am I up to these days?

Nenda has retired and so the family has been supporting her in her Tempoyak Masak business. Follow the team and its journey on the FB page and IG. She has so many projects in store when it comes to food and traditional recipes which she hopes to share. I find it just so inspiring to see her so spirited at such an age!

Apart from that, I am also heavily involved in the family's NGO. AraCare. Follow us on FB and IG to find out what we are trying to do to help and make a change, no matter how small!

AraCare is now running its Kurban project. Come and support us and book a portion!

Cute la poster ni alahai hahaha.

Call the number for inquiries and booking.

So that is basically what I am up to these days. There is so much activity and it's chaos around the house but I would not have it any other way!

Much love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone.

AraCare #bethechange Is Coming Soon!

"Be the change that you wish to see in the world" ~ Mahatma Gandhi

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most Merciful

I am excited to annouce that AraCare, a family run charitable organisation is the process of being born.

That is a typical day for Airiel's atok.

The items in the orange packs you see are bought by the family, packed by the family to be given out to people that need it.

He has been doing this his entire life, and the rest of us have decided to follow in his footsteps.

It was then the idea for AraCare was conceived.

Stay tuned on the updates! In the meantime, lets #bethechange!

Much love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone,

Selling For Charity

"As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others..." ~ Sam Levenson

Hello readers,

So many people need help these days. And I am trying to do my bit.

I also realised that I have tons of clothes that I have either never worn, or have worn once and never worn again.

I am selling my clothes via duriana and carousell. Save for the postage charges on the clothes I am selling, 100% from the sale will go to charities. I have a list of causes, organisations and individuals and/or families which all of us can donate to. PM me if any of you are interested in the list.

Duriana

Carousell

You can find me in both via username idzerqq or idzerqqy on the two apps.

Not much stuff yet because I am juggling time. But I will try bit by bit to upload the clothes.

Have a good weekend ahead.

Much love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone.

A Nation Tested...

"Your heart is like a great river after a long spell of rain, spilling over its banks. All signposts that once stood on the ground are gone, inundated and carried away by that rush of water. And still the rain beats down on the surface of the river. Everytime you see a flood like that on the news you tell yourself; That's it. That's my heart..." ~ Haruki Murakami

Readers,

It has been a time of trials and tribulations for anything and everything Malaysia this year.

My heart bleeds for those affected by the floods in Pantai Timur, Perak, Kedah.

After volunteering at a centre I am taking a break because I need to take care of Airiel.

But I wish I could do more. I wish I had tonnes of money at my disposal to help those who cannot help themselves.  Alas I do not.

I wish for endless energy to help pack, unpack and rearrange stuff into boxes. I don't have that either.

But for those who do want to help, I list down places and organisations that are helping out. Don't be shy in going and helping out, they need every pair of hands to help. They will welcome you.

Don't be afraid to spare with some of your hard earned cash and bonuses. Just close your eyes and put yourself in their shoes. It is simply unimaginable.

I list those that I know off here:-

1. Groupon has a voucher you can buy where 100% of it goes to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society. Lowest sum is RM10. Highest is RM100. Link is here;

2. Muslim Care. Its collection centre is in Shah Alam. Seksyen 8

3. IM4U. Drop by their centre in Bukit Kiara that is open 24 hours with goods. Or help in packing and labeling.

4. UITM's Misi Ops Banjir.

5. 3 NGO's have combined in getting relief efforts moving. Drop by with your goods at pintu masuk Matrade where the Vendeur Festival is going on right now.

6. This is an effort by Free Market for Pantai Timur. Drop by with your goods at Harley's Malaysia in TTDI.

7. Aman Palestin. They are targeting to collect 1 mil by 15 Jan 2015.

8. Even Milkadeal has set up an emergency flood relief appeal centre. You can contact them at this address:-

MilkADeal.com
22-3 (2nd Floor), Jalan PJU 8/5G
Damansara Perdana
47820 Petaling Jaya
Selangor
T: +603 7733 4733
(We are located directly behind Public Mutual, above Mutiara D'Maju mamak on the 2nd floor)

There are more organisations, but the above is what I can list down for now.

And below is not a donation request. A friend on FB uploaded this and I think it is extremely useful. So below a  list of a basic emergency kit everyone should have at home.

Just today, another plane went missing. This time its AirAsia:-

We are, a nation tested. Let us show the rest of the world that we band together and rise in times of calamity. That we shall stand hand in hand in facing the difficulties that are upon us.

Let us show the rest of the world what we are made of.

Courage my fellow Malaysians, courage.

And last but not least, a prayer for all of us to recite:-

Much  love from Airiel and I.

Peace and love to everyone.

Please Help Syria

Hi Readers,

This is a post to help and reach out to Syria.

Ahmad Sani Araby, a noted Malaysian with MAPIM who often flies to Palestine and Syria is flying off to Syria soon.

He needs funds to give out help to the people in Syria.

So far, his FB campaign has only managed to collect RM510 which is less than sufficient.

Please help and donate to his cause so as to enable him to help those in need.

You can follow him at his page and follow his updates here.

There are also other pages:-

(i)   www.tabungsyria.com; and

(ii) MAPIM's account no. - 15400-1880630425 (Al-Rajhi Bank)

Even RM10 or RM5 is better than nothing. It can help feed a child or a family.

Please help.

Please also help share this blog post on your wall so your friends can see it and help.

Thank you.

Palestine/Syria/Burma/Somalia - How to Help

Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since I have posted updates here. Sorry guys, I have been busy with court. So busy in fact, I had a little minor bleeding episode and have been instructed to rest now.

This post is long overdue. I have been asked numerous times by readers since my first post on Aisha on how to help. So here goes.

There are a number of organisations that can help those in need all around the world. And I am not talking just about Palestine, there are children in Somalia, Syria, and do not forget the Rohingyas either, who according to the UN are the most persecuted people in the world. I try to split my help evenly between all these groups of people because according to arwah Aisha (yes, a 12 year old) no one person deserves more help than another. Everybody needs help she used to say...sigh [let's move on before I burst into tears shall we...]. I will list down the organisations I use.

1. MuslimAid - Muslimaid provides help to Burma, Syria, Darfur, Iraq and Syria among others. It is a UK organisation. They mainly ask for donations which can be provided just once or on a monthly basis. Did you know that by contributing just 3 pounds equivalent to about RM12, you can help save a person's life?  Please visit their website for more information.

2. Muslim Hands

3. ARFUK

4. ARNO

5. Islamic Relief Malaysia - This organisation provides an avenue to adopt children from Somalia and Palestine and other programmes with a root in Malaysia. My fellow ex- Shearnie and blogger Farah Shafinaz has joined the cause via this organisation and I am so proud of her!

6. UPA - This is where I found Aisha

7. Aqsa Syarif

8. Viva Palestina

9. Aman Palestin

10. Global Peace Malaysia

11. WFP - This is another one of my favourite organisations, you can donate and buy food packages for families in Syria, Haiti and other communities that do not have enough food.

These are just some of the organisations that is an avenue for us normal people that cannot dedicate much time for charitable activities but do have the cash to spare. Your adoptions and donations can go a long away and in my instance, it forged a relationship which changed my entire outlook on life.

I hope I have helped those of you who are interested find an organisation suited for you!

Lets give back

Hi All,

Just wanted to share with my readers that our family is making special arrangements to have food supplies, clothes (preloved or new) and anything else sent to the needy in the Puchong area. The items go to single mothers, the handicapped, orphans...you name it.

Lets give back to the people who needs it most during this holy month! Trust me, you'll feel good about it!!!

Salam Ramadhan all!
