"Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft brown earth, with the grasses waving above one's head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, no tomorrow. To forget time, to forgive life, to be at peace..." ~ Oscar Wilde
In the name of Allah, the Beneficient, the Merciful.
Today is a day of mourning.
My father's uncle and Tuan Guru Nik Aziz, lovingly referred to by all of us Malaysians as "Tuan Guru" passed away within hours of each other.
What a day to return to the Almighty, the night before Jumaat. Where a soul is guarded safe by the Almighty from the slights of the qubur.
I cannot help but think of my angel son, and my angel Palestine daughter (not born of blood but of soul).
But enough about me.
Why was he so loved? People who have never met him, never knew him shed tears at his passing, felt loss, felt grief.
He lived a simple life despite his elevated status and position. He shunned excessive material possession and positions. He not only believed in his faith, he actually lived it. He was honest. He was simple. He was truly afraid of the Almighty. Dia memahami erti 'keikhlasan'. He embodied what all of us wished we could be but know could never hope to achieve.
For this his enemies respected him.
For this his friends and family were devoted to him.
For this the rest of us LOVE and ADORE him.
The sea of people sending him to his final resting place
This picture struck me the most. This police officer couldn't hold back his tears looking at the final resting place when this picture was taken.
My dearest Almighty. Forgive him, bestow mercy upon him, pardon him, accord him noble provisions and grant him space, wash him with water, snow and hail, purify him from sins as You have purified the white garment from soiling, give him a better abode in Jannah in place of his present one, a better family in Jannah in place of his present one, and a better companion in Jannah in place of his present one; admit him to Jannah, protect him from the trials and tribulations of the hereafter and save him from the fire.
Tuan Guru, we will miss you.
Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Allah we shall return.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Much love from Airiel and I.
Peace and love to everyone.
